BACHELOR OF FINE ARTS, PHOTOGRAPHY

The academic programme consists of four years degree programme leading to a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA), in Photography and Visual Communication. The academic programme consists of 8 semesters. The annual intake is 40 (28 as regular and 12 as Self Supporting Scheme (SSS)). The degree programme in Photography and Visual Communication offers courses in inter-related studies such as Photography as Fine Art,

Professional Photography, Photo Journalism, Audio-Visual Communication, Digital Photography, Computer Graphics & Multimedia and Professional Videography. The programme seeks to develop the technical and aesthetic competence of the students by exposing them to the various aspects of the theory, history and practice of photography through lectures, workshops, seminars and exhibitions.

The department has well-equipped infrastructure, Digital Computer Labs and Professional Video Labs etc., and adequately equipped studio.

A student after completing his bachelor’s degree in photography can pursue Master’s degree in Photography, Film Making, Cinematography or any specialized field he desires. During his Bachelor’s degree he is taught basics in all genres of photography and videography which enables the student to understand and pursue his future through higher education in India and abroad.
