SCHOOL OF PLANNING AND ARCHITECTURE
School of Planning and Architecture encompasses five departments Architecture, Interior design, Digital techniques in design and planning, facilities and services planning and town planning with superior grade of understanding and methodical approach to solve the problems of this generation.
B.Arch.(Architecture) Students taught to address the complex problems of designing – to house human activity, issues of climate change, energy conservation, technology, structure and combining the needs of internal and external environment with a methodological training in analysis, understanding and problem solving. The course broadens the intellectual and social lives of students beyond the boundaries of architecture and built environment.
Bachelor Of (Interior design) Course is designed to develop artistic bent of mind and good imagination for space planning, construction management and effective use of available materials and products. They are taught to create plush, functional and adaptable spaces in various building typologies in an ever evolving and changing world. They are instilled with creativity and problem solving ability while teaching
latest material availability, construction techniques and patterns with variety of design workshops such as furniture manufacturing, metal works and lifestyle Accessory Design.
B.Tech (DTDP - Digital Technologies in Design & Planning) is a multi-disciplinary course, which relates to Design, Multimedia, GIS and IT. The Course structure deals with design and development of the space and built form environment. A strong foundation is imparted into students related to space, design, construction, environment, multimedia, geographical information systems and information technology.
B.Tech (FSP - Facilities & Service Planning) Students are taught engineering design, construction procedures, operation, renovation and maintenance of buildings as well as the impact of them on surrounding environment. The course instills knowledge in designing layouts for building services, building commissioning for operation and maintenance, HVAC, Electrical technology, Automation, sustainable energy utility for both residential and commercial buildings.
B.Tech (TP - Town Planning) Students are taught to be both people-oriented and future-oriented combining design, analytical and communication skills. They are nurtured to care about the future and contribute planning solutions to communities with social, economic and environmental problems. The aim is for the student to pursue career in urban and regional planning with knowledge including Sociology, Legislation, Development Theories, Politics, Housing, Transportation, Urban Economics and Landscape.
B.Tech (GDT - Game Design Technologies) Game Design Technologies Course emphasizes on practice oriented learning on the techniques and technology related to aesthetics and design of a game. In this Multifaceted course students are prepared to confidently face the challenges posed by the gaming industry to grab their career opportunities.
The students are taught different technologies and mediums of video games, and game production. They are motivated to create innovative game ideas, prepare game designs, understand different perspectives, create 2D and 3D artworks, animation techniques, implementing visual effects and developing games. They practice 3D art and design intensely through character creation, UV unwrapping, texturing, lighting, and rigging. Students go through intense practice of game production related researches, level designing, level integration, and using game engines.
